Founded on March 3, 2008, HockeySweaterNumbers.com was developed by Clark Rasmussen based on ideas from Chris Creamer.

Clark's interest in hockey sweater numbers prompted Chris to (repeatedly) suggest building some sort of comprehensive player number database. Such a site was determined to be too difficult to maintain and was never assembled.

The idea came up again in February of 2008 and an idea for a wiki-like version of the site came together, prompting Clark to build the site that exists today.

We don't know how well it will work but we'll have some fun finding out.
